Microsoft will rename Windows Defender in its OS – review

Microsoft is gradually moving away from the use of the name Windows defender for your antivirus. In March 2019, the branded antivirus system was renamed Microsoft Defender ATPas she was getting ready to launch on macOS. Given that they plan to transfer the antivirus to Android as well, it makes sense to abandon the word Windows.

Therefore, the corporation began to rename its products, replacing the name of the operating system with its own name. For example, Windows Defender Offline Scan has already become Microsoft Defender Offline Scan. And Windows Defender is Microsoft Defender respectively.

Other changes will appear in the framework of the May update of Windows 10 (2004), which will also receive a number of additions and improvements in terms of functionality.

This version promises a better search in the system, expanded support for the Linux subsystem, as well as small changes to the user interface, including a new set of icons for default applications.

We note the selection of the Cortana voice assistant in the local application, as well as the promised optimizations that should improve the quality of the system as a whole.
