Studio CI Games announced the release of her new game Sniper ghost warrior contracts 2 on June 4th. And if all over the world this date is no worse than others, then the release in China may turn out to be too problematic, says Damian Jaszkowski, a spokesman for the Polish Foundation for Independent Games.
The thing is that on June 4, 1989, the Tiananmen Square protest camps were dispersed in China, and now this date is known as the “Tiananmen Square Massacre” or simply “June 4 events.”
If we enter this date into Chinese search engines, we will either not get results or they will be filtered out. On the other hand, when posting messages with this date on social networks, it may happen that they are deleted (especially if the content of the messages or attached graphics may cause unwanted associations).
When Contracts 2 is posted on Chinese social media, most sites either say the game will be released on June 5th, or simply indicate “in June” to save themselves unnecessary problems.

The expert notes that in a number of Contracts 2 promotional materials, images of tanks are used – and this clearly leads to associations, because the popular protests in Tiananmen Square were suppressed with the help of tanks and armored personnel carriers.
So far, it is difficult to predict the fate of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 in the Chinese market. But it may happen that on the day of release, no one in China writes about the game.
