Channel VG Tech tested and compared the performance of all console versions of the recently released remake Mafia: Definitive Edition… The results are as follows:
Resolution:
- Xbox One S – roughly 1536 x 900 pixels;
- Xbox One X – 2560 x 1440 pixels;
- PlayStation 4 – 1920 x 1080 pixels;
- PlayStation 4 Pro – 2560 x 1440 pixels…
Performance:
- The most stable version turned out to be for the Xbox One X. It has almost stable 30 FPS in gameplay;
- On PS4 Pro and PS4, the situation is generally the same. When driving around the city, framerate failures were not noticed, but during action and chases with gunfights, the frame rate can sometimes drop to 27 FPS and for a short time even lower;
- In hot moments, the Xbox One S also does a poor job at keeping 30 FPS, but this version is generally the least stable of all;
- A common disadvantage of all four versions is drawdowns in cutscenes: up to 25 FPS on Xbox One X and up to 20 FPS on the rest;
- Separately, it was noted that on the Xbox One X the game has improved lighting in some scenes and the rendering distance of shadows.
