Japanese company Capcom updated brand Deep down U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The attention was paid to this by the Western media. There were no official comments about the fate of the role-play action announced back in 2013 for the PlayStation 4..
At the end of 2019, the producer Yoshinori Ono told in an interview with Eurogamer, that the original Deep Down development team has long diverged into other projects, but Capcom still owns the rights to the brand and does not lose hope of releasing the title one day.
But already in April 2023, the authoritative publication VGC reported, citing its sources, that Deep Down was frozen, and in a state of “almost complete readiness”. Perhaps now Capcom is considering resuscitating the game on a new generation of consoles.
