The leaks were confirmed almost in full, because within the framework of the “nostalgic mode” players will be able to arrange battles on maps from previous games in the series. Six locations will be available on release:
- Battle for the Bulge of Battlefield 1942;
- Al alamein from Battlefield 1942;
- Valparaiso of Bad Company 2;
- Arica harbor from Bad Company 2;
- Caspian Border of Battlefield 3;
- Noshahr Canals from Battlefield 3.
Portal is a kind of sandbox game, because the players will have access to the constructor of matches and scenarios with wide possibilities. For example, soldiers armed with knives during the Second World War can fight doctors armed with defibrillators. You can also customize the Rush mode, which is not yet available in the main Battlefield 2042 multiplayer.
A total of six maps, 40 variants of firearms, 30 gadgets and 40 pieces of equipment from Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3. At the same time, Portal is a service game, so in the future, developers will add new content and maps (at least seven pieces).
A full presentation of the Battlefield Portal will take place at EA Play Live already today. Battlefield 2042 will be released on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PS4 and PS5 on October 22, 2023.
