Redesigned and enhanced version Xenoblade chronicles subtitled Definitive Edition successfully started in Japan. According to the publication FamitsuIn the first week, about 91,000 copies of the game were sold. This figure is the second largest in the history of the series.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is the third version of Xenoblade. The original game was released in 2010 on Wii, five years later it was ported to New 3DS, and five years later it was adapted for Nintendo Switch.
Below is the sales data for all Xenoblade games in Japan for the first week (only box sales are taken into account, digital unknowns):
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch, 2017) – 97,000
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition (Switch, 2023) – 91,000
- Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U, 2015) – 89,000
- Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii, 2010) – 79,000
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (New 3DS, 2015) – 44,000
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition also topped the Japanese digital chart last week, but exact sales statistics for the digital version are unknown.
Nintendo actively promoted the reissue of Xenoblade in conjunction with Xenoblade 2 in the Japanese eShop, offering to buy two games at once at a bargain price.
It was previously reported that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was the most successful game in the history of Monolith Soft. As of March 2019, it sold 1.73 million copies. The main markets were the United States and Europe. Japanese gamers bought 310 thousand copies.
