Applicants must submit applications by December 25, 2023, after which they will leave the holding on February 28, 2023. Volunteers will also receive additional severance pay as an incentive, and Sega Sammy will help them find new jobs.
Anti-crisis measures will not end only with staff reductions. Top managers’ salaries will be cut. For example, payments to the president of Sega Sammy Haruki Satomi will be reduced by 30%.
Bonus payments are also suspended. In the structure of the holding, an additional committee for structural reforms has been formed, which will analyze the current balance, reduce costs and transform the structure of the enterprise to adapt to the changed market environment.
Sega Sammy will have an extraordinary loss of nearly $ 97 million in the current fiscal year, tentatively.
Earlier it was announced that the company would sell its subsidiary by the end of 2023 SEGA Entertainment, which operates entertainment centers in Japan, will exit the arcade business.
