“It takes more time to unlock the potential of the game”: BioWare officially announces work to restart Anthem

Bioware working on restart Anthem. Sources Kotaku talked about it last fall, and Today the information on the studio’s blog was officially confirmed by its head Casey hudson.

“A year ago, we were preparing to launch Anthem – a game that represented an important step into a new territory for us as a studio. It was an exciting and at the same time frightening experience – to enter the world with something new and different, and we are grateful to everyone to the players who have joined us on this journey. “

Hudson noted that he was proud of the work that the team had done regarding Anthem, but at the same time understood that the game did not offer all that they and gamers wanted to get from her.

“Over the past year, our team has worked hard to improve stability, performance, and overall quality by releasing three seasons with new content and features. We also heard your feedback that Anthem needs a more interesting loot system, long-term progression, and a richer end game. “We acknowledge that in order to unlock the full potential of the game, we will have to do more fundamental work, and this will require a more substantial rethinking than just updating or expanding.”

In the coming months, BioWare will focus on a long-term redesign of the gaming experience.. In particular, it is about rethinking the main cycle of gameplay, adding clear goals motivating challenges and progression with significant rewards, but at the same time the very essence of the game – flights and battles within the framework of an extensive science and fantasy setting – will remain in place.

“And to do everything right, we will do what we did not pay enough attention for the first time – we will give the team time for tests and iterations, focusing primarily on the gameplay.”

Developers will continue to support the current version of Anthem, but will move away from the release of full-fledged new seasons towards small events, store updates, and repetitions of old seasonal content. BioWare hopes the game has a “better future”.
