Intel held a presentation Intel Architecture Day, which presented the family Alder lake – the first processors with hybrid architecture. The chips, made using the 10 nm process technology, are scheduled for release this fall.
The processors will be based on the dissimilar Gracemont and Golden Cove cores. Intel Thread Director technology will be responsible for load balancing.
Older Alder Lake for PCs will receive 16 cores and 24 threads, as well as support for DDR5 memory and PCI Express 5.0 bus with up to 64 GB / s bandwidth. In addition, the chips will be equipped with an integrated graphics core based on the Xe-LP architecture and a third-level cache memory of 30 MB.
To connect the Alder Lake processors, new motherboards with an LGA 1700 socket will be required. The claimed consumption is between 9 and 125 watts.
In addition to solutions for desktop computers, Intel is going to release mobile BGA-modifications of chips with six Golden Cove cores and eight – Gracemont.
The company calls Alder Lake its most productive product.
