It seems that this is not the first time this year, the developers urge the community to be kinder and show respect for each other. Brian Intihar, creative director Marvel’s Spider-Man, reached out to fans with a similar thought after receiving life-threatening messages due to the face rework of Peter Parker in the upcoming remaster of the game for Playstation 5…
To our Spidey fans: I totally appreciate your passion, but sending me threatening notes that you will “HUNT YOU DOWN AND WE WILL FIND YOU! YOU FIX THIS NOW! ” isn’t cool. With what’s happening in today’s world, let’s be a force for good and be respectful of each other. Thank you.

“To our fans Spider-Man: I totally respect your enthusiasm, but send me threatening messages like,” We’ll hunt down and find you! Fix it now! “This is not cool. Considering what is happening in the world now, let’s be a force of good and respect each other. Thank you.”
Soon, many fans and other members of the industry responded to Intihara’s message with words of support. Neil Druckmann, vice president Naughty dog expressed regret that his colleague had to face “this shit”. Notably, Druckmann himself also made similar comments earlier this year, condemning cyberbullying when he received threats from The Last of Us: Part II… Game Director also expressed support for Intihar God of War Corey Barlog, Spider-Man comic book writer Dan Slott, voice actress Laura Bailey and many more.
“What the fuck, folks? Please don’t do that. Brian is a good person. The Insomniac team is full of hardworking, damn great people. You can’t do that. We have to be better at those who create what we love.” wrote Barlog.
Unfortunately, this case is further confirmation of how toxic online discussion has become in this age, when even relatively small creative decisions cause unbalanced anger online. Constructive criticism is good. Everyone has the right to express their opinion, but the transition to personal insults, attacks and threats is unacceptable.
