As Zippo added, the new project will not be a continuation of the Country series, since the Nintendo EPD is allegedly not interested in creating sequels to games to which they have nothing to do, however, in the new part, Kremling Crew, Diddy and Cranky should return.
The project should be released by the end of 2023 as part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the franchise, and the announcement will probably happen on E3 2023…
The latest title in the franchise is Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze from Retro Studios, which was released on Wii U in 2014. In 2018, the platformer was re-released on Switch, and Retro Studios itself is now working on Metroid Prime 4…
