In June the company Electronic Arts officially announced a shooter Battlefield 2042 from the studio DICE… At the same time, the developers did not share all the details. It is known that the BF 2042 will offer three main modes at once:
- “Total military conflict“(All-out warfare) – presents itself from updated options from “Capture“and”Breakthrough “… Battles will unfold on huge maps with a dynamic weather system,
- “Dangerous area“(Hazard Zone) – shareware part of the game. The emphasis will be on squad battles.
- Secret mode, aka Battlefield hub – DICE will share details on July 22 at EA Play Live… However, they call this mode a “love letter” to fans of the series.
Famous blogger Tom Hendersonwho specializes in insider Call of duty and Battlefield, shared new information about two additional modes. However, he warned that he cannot guarantee the accuracy of what is described below 100%, although the data partially overlaps with recent rumors.
According to the blogger, the “Dangerous Zone” mode is indeed a variation Battle royale (Battle royal), as previously discussed by bloggers who attended EA’s private presentation. However, the developers have made a number of significant changes in order to distance themselves from the rest of the genre, which many players consider “stigmatized”.
Source compares Dangerous Zone to a hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov, but DICE can quickly transform the mode into a full-fledged Battle Royale if the need arises. Up to 100 players can be simultaneously on one map, as well as many AI-controlled fighters.
Things are much more interesting with the Battlefield Hub, which the studio is engaged in. Respawn… According to Henderson, this is a mode in which remasters of the map from previous games in the series will appear. In doing so, fun and madness will dominate balance.
Battlefield Hub runs on the latest graphics engine Frostbite, so the basics of gameplay will not differ from Battlefield 2042. This means physics and animation, and instead of a class system, you will have to choose one of 10 new specialists.
But the weapons and equipment will be transferred from the previous parts of the BF. In particular, players will allegedly be allowed to arrange a duel involving tanks from Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 3… That is why you should forget about a sane balance.
A maximum of 64 players are expected to play on the battlefield at the same time. But it all depends on the card – if the size and its individual characteristics allow, then the developers will increase the figure to 128 players (on PC, Xbox Series X | S and PS5).
All three modes of BF 2042 will be downloadable separately, although you must purchase the base game to access the Battlefield Hub. In addition, this mode will be updated throughout the seasons Battle Pass… Dangerous Zone is an F2P component, so everyone can install it.
Battlefield 2042 launches on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PS4 and PS5 on October 22, 2023.
