According to preliminary data, the project is still at a very early stage of production. However, it is known for certain that the stupid and low-budget sequel of the original cartoon, which was released immediately on VHS tapes, will not be taken as the basis. The second part will have to be based on a new story, but its production will be affected by the results of the first film.
At the same time, “Mulan” is now a headache for Disney. The company is interested in earthing up the Chinese audience, but the cartoon in the local market has faced devastating criticism from the audience.
Therefore, the film specifically took into account the wishes of the censors of the PRC. The plans were destroyed by the coronavirus pandemic: Cinemas in China and other countries around the world are now closed, and Disney is faced with financial problems.
According to the new schedule, the tape will be available in July 2023, but it is still unclear whether the audience and their children will go to the cinema in the new conditions.
