In Russia, improve distance learning using AI

A pilot program was launched at the School of Digital Economics of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) to analyze student engagement during distance learning. Artificial intelligence is used for this, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the university.
As the director of the School, Ilya Mirin, stated, the system should determine how much the audience is interested in the subject. And it will help teachers to change the scheme of lectures so that students are involved in the educational process.
The system analyzes facial expressions, determining emotions: happiness, boredom or a neutral state. It also keeps track of the number of chat messages, voice timbre and so on. At the first stage, the system will work in some classes, but in the future they plan to extend it to all classes.
Note that previously a similar project has already been launched in China. AND Microsoft went the other way and patented the cryptocurrency, which is proposed to pay for the active life of people.
