Given the many delays of various projects, many are looking for alternative production options. One of them may be special virtual locations that are created on huge LED screens with 4K resolution.
Similar engine technologies Unreal from Epic already used on set “Mandalorian” and “Irish”when the actor was placed inside a huge peculiar capsule consisting of the very screens on which they create a realistic background.
Other large studios, including Warner bros, Paramount, Hulu etc. A similar trend, according to analysts, will continue after the pandemic.
The advantage of such filming is that a detailed environment for the scene can be created from home without wasting time. In addition, the background can be changed in almost real time, which reduces the post-processing process.
The most expensive part of such technology will be its components, however, while the studios save on production.
