Command Metacritic revised approach to posting user reviews on game pages after scandal around The Last of Us: Part II. Latest exclusive Playstation 4, like many other high-profile projects of different years, underwent large-scale revision bombing from the side of the visitors of the resource already in the first minutes after its official launch in Playstation store.
Having considered the situation, the administration of the resource, apparently, came to the conclusion that it is simply impossible to fully appreciate such a big game in just a few minutes or even hours after the release. Now Metacritic will block the ability to award points to new games at the start – everyone can evaluate each new product only two days after its debut.
“Please play a little first. You can return and give the game a rating on July 9,” the message appeared on the page of the Switch-version of Catherine: Full Body, which is being released just today.

The new approach, of course, will not solve all the problems of Metacritic user reviews – even those gamers who did not buy or pass them will be able to give ratings as before. Checking every opinion is not possible. However, it seems that the administration believes that the new interval can change the behavior of some of the so-called trolls. There is a chance that if they cannot immediately assign 0 points to the game that they hate, their ardor will simply disappear in two days. We will see how soon the system will prove itself in practice.
