Fortnite RTX Minimum System Requirements:
- Processor – 4 cores or more.
- Video card – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or better (driver version 450.00 or newer).
- Windows 10 version 1903 (May 2019 update)
- DirectX 12.
In the first screenshot, RTX is off, in the second – it is on.
How do I enable ray tracing?
- Go to parameters.
- Switch the rendering mode to “DirectX 12”.
- Click “Apply” and restart the game.
- Go to the options again.
- Switch the Ray Tracing setting to On. Additionally, you can choose where the technology will be applied.
- Click “Apply” and restart the game.
Done, ray tracing is on.
Nvidia has prepared a dedicated Creative Map to see RTX technology at work in all its glory. Here’s how to access the map:
- In the menu, click “Change”.
- Select Creative Mode and click Accept.
- Click Play.
- Select “Island Code” and press “Enter”.
- Enter the code 9189-0518-5408 and click “Get Started”.
How do I enable performance mode?
Performance mode makes the graphics as primitive as in the smartphone version of the game, thereby increasing the number of FPS.
To turn on:
- Go to parameters.
- Switch the rendering mode to Performance (Alpha).
- Click “Apply” and restart the game.
Done, performance mode is on.
Optionally, you can remove high-resolution textures and free up 16.5 GB of disk space. For this:
- Open the Epic Games app.
- Go to the “Library” tab.
- Click on the three dots next to Fortnite.
- Select Options”.
- Uncheck the box next to High Resolution Textures.
- Click Apply.
Done, now the game takes up the minimum amount of space.
