Inside, a source close to Qualcomm indicated that Honor and the chipmaker were already in talks to ship chipsets for upcoming Honor phones. The latter is optimistic about the negotiations, and both sides are close to reaching an agreement. On the other hand, Honor CEO Zhao Ming has bluntly stated that the company aims to become the leading smartphone brand in China’s smartphone market. A week after the announcement of the sale, Zhao mentioned that Honor would start rolling out other products besides smartphones.
