The US film industry is slowly slipping into chaos. This is facilitated by a pandemic, excessive inflation of production budgets, accumulation of debts, falling profits, and so on. But for some reason this does not stop the studios from spending money on supporting dubious political movements, simultaneously shutting up their mouths to critics.

In the past few years, in Hollywood there has been a repeat of the situation in the mid-20th century, when, as part of the struggle against the American Communists, a so-called black list was formed, which included many talented people. So, in 2019, the actress Debra Messing demanded to disclose the names of people who supported and sponsored the campaign Donald Trump. In response, the US president accused the actress of McCarthyism.
But a new blacklist does exist. An example is the actor’s story. Antonio Sabato Jr., which is little known to the mass audience. But in 2016, he made a fatal mistake: he publicly supported U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump.
At that time, the Italian migrant had a contract with the television company Abc (owned by studio Disney), who after the election withdrew his proposals. This is exactly what happened to the screenwriter and producer. Craig Gorewho worked on the spin-off of the series “Law and order“. The man posted in Facebook a photograph in which he poses at his own home with a firearm. In the comments, Gore explained that looters were operating just two blocks away, and he would not allow these “bastards” to smash the building that was spent on honest work.

Hypocrisy has long been a key quality of Hollywood, and the riots in the United States have once again been perfectly demonstrated. The fight against the “dissent” at one time was one of the reasons for the collapse of the Hollywood studio system. It remains to be hoped that after falling to the bottom, the American film industry will sober up and restart.
