Whether Cavill will play a familiar character from the universe or whether it will be a completely new hero is unknown, although sources mention that this is not the only leading role of the picture. Perhaps Cavill will have a duet with someone else at the center of the story.
Chad Stahelski, who directed John Wick, is in charge of directing the new version. Cavill himself added that he was very pleased to work with this author and had already begun to prepare for a fresh role, at the same time confessing his love for the series.
The original Highlander was released in 1986 and told about one of the representatives of the immortal race of warriors who can only be defeated by decapitation. Later, the picture spawned a whole franchise with sequels, cartoons and so on.
