“Health is the main thing”: PUBG Global Series: Berlin eSports tournament postponed due to coronavirus epidemic

Company PUBG Corp. decided to postpone the e-sports tournament indefinitely PUBG Global Series: Berlin, which was supposed to take place in Germany in April 2023. The decision is due to the epidemic of coronavirus. Despite the fact that it has not yet become widespread outside the Asian region, the risk of infection increases in crowded places, the organizers said.

PUBG Corp. also referred to WHO forecasts, from which it follows that the spread of the virus in the West may accelerate in the near future.

“The main thing for us is the health and safety of our employees, players and fans, so we decided to postpone the PUBG Global Series: Berlin. Changes can also affect future events, plans for which were announced earlier,” the statement said.

Earlier, many companies decided to reduce their presence at the largest mobile exhibition of the year, MWC 2023 in Barcelona, or completely refused to participate in it. These include Amazon and Sony. The reason is the same – the danger of coronavirus spread.

According to some forecasts, coronavirus may adversely affect the launch of the next-generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

As of February 11, the number of coronavirus victims exceeded 1 thousand people.
