Half-Life 2 fans set the attendance record – review addiction

Fans Half-life 2 held a kind of flash mob: today, at 18:00 Moscow time, they called everyone who could start the game. The streamers scheduled the passage of the cult masterpiece for this time, the newcomers were advised to finally get acquainted with the game, and everyone else – at least just start it.

The purpose of the flash mob was quite clear: to break the very modest attendance record set nine years ago. Data about him vary: Steam charts claimed that then 6882 people entered the game at the same time, but SteamDB indicated 13,216 players.

Enthusiasts have achieved their goal: the record has been broken. According to Steam Charts, the new peak online is 10,309 people. SteamDB still has better data with 16,039 players.

Valve has not yet responded to the massive fan action. So if the organizers hoped to attract the attention of the company and encourage it to return to work on the series, then they hardly came true.
