Journalist of the publication Bloomberg Jason Schreier reported with reference to his sources that last Thursday, December 17, the leadership of the Polish studio CD Projekt RED held an internal meeting with its staff. The article clarifies that the main subject of discussion was the extremely uneven launch of the role-playing action Cyberpunk 2077…
According to Bloomberg, the conference began with the top of CD Projekt RED taking full blame for the disastrous start of Cyberpunk 2077 – ordinary workers were apologized, promising to revise the production plan within the studio in order to reduce overtime. At the same time, no details were reported – the management only commented on the situation in general terms.
In turn, the employees were not silent. According to information obtained by Jason Schreier, some of the CD Projekt RED specialists did not even hesitate to ask “uncomfortable” questions. One of them asked why, in January 2023, the studio made loud statements about the readiness of Cyberpunk 2077, if the game at that moment was in a deplorable state. The answer from the leaders was received directly – they are ready to take the blame for any public statements.
Bloomberg also reports that another unnamed employee of CD Projekt RED asked if the leaders thought it ironic that the studio had to create a game in the midst of hellish rework, one of the central themes of which is the fight against inhuman corporations. Here the top of the Polish company could not give any concrete answer.
