Since the last release Half-life more than 12 years have passed. During this time, a whole generation of young gamers has grown, many of whom have never played the games in the series, but in the meantime a release will take place in a few months Half-Life: Alyx.
In anticipation of this event, Valve decided to attract as much as possible to the franchiseaboutLarger audience. And what is the most effective way to do this? That’s right – give away games for free. Over the next two months, any user of the service can completely freely download and go through the first Half-life in the original or reprinted on the engine Source, sequel and both episodes. The promotion also includes extensions Half-Life: Opposite Force and Half-Life: Blue Shift.
“The actions of Half-Life: Alyx unfold before the events of Half-Life 2 and the episodes, but the games share characters and elements of a common story. The Half-Life: Alyx team believes that the best way to enjoy the new game is to come to it through the old parts, especially through Half-Life 2 and the episodes, so we want it to be as easy as possible. “
Free access will be open until the release of Half-Life: Alyx in March, after which the games will remain in the libraries only from those who bought them.
