The launch of next-generation consoles in 2023 could spur the rise in prices for video cards for PC. This forecast was shared by company analysts DRAMeXchange. The main reason for the changes in the market is the growing demand for dynamic random access memory (DRAM).
The fact is that manufacturers are now actively switching from GDDR5 to GDDR6. Such video cards offer Nvidia and AMD. However consoles Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 also use GDDR6, which will only increase the demand for components.
Given this, experts do not exclude that video cards can go up by about 5% in the near future. The jump can be avoided if the manufacturers of DRAM (Samsung, Micron and so on) will be able to increase their stocks in warehouses. DRAMeXchange also predicts a 15% increase in GDDR6 shipments next year.
