Gamescom organizers reacted to news about the rapid spread of coronavirus statement, which states that preparations for the annual event in Cologne are still ongoing.
“We are currently receiving notifications of how a possible threat from the coronavirus could affect Gamescom,” the report said. “We take this issue very seriously, because the health of all visitors and partners of the exhibition is our top priority. We, of course, will follow the recommendations of the responsible authorities regarding major events, evaluate them on a daily basis and make our decisions after careful consideration. Gamescom 2023 preparations continue as planned for the target date. “
The Cologne authorities issued a decree last week, according to which events of more than 1,000 people are prohibited until April 10. Last year Gamescom visited over 373,000 people.
