With the release of the update Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker a new class will appear in the game, the healer Sage. And his presentation caused an unexpected reaction from the players: some of them began to complain of trypophobia, the attacks of which are caused by the icon of the new class.
Trypophobia is a fear of a cluster of repetitive holes, and quite a few people complain of it, although the American Psychiatric Association does not recognize it as a disease. One way or another, the four flying blades depicted on the class icon were interpreted by a number of players as a cluster of holes.
The developers responded to the wishes of the players and changed the icon. They remained, in principle, the same, but in the new version the three upper blades were made solid and the outer ones were slightly tilted to break the pattern.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker will launch on November 23rd for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
