Launch Warcraft III: Reforged became another unpleasant episode in the relationship between Blizzard and the fan community. Soon after the premiere of the remake of the cult strategy, the forums were filled with a lot of devastating reviews and accusations of developers of deceiving the audience.
In particular, players note that in the final release, Blizzard refused the cutscenes shown at the presentation of the project as part of BlizzCon 2018, as a result of which the project seems to be more budgetary. They also write that the final game looks worse than the earlier demos, it presents old animations and only two CGI videos have been updated. Here, however, it is worth noting that Blizzard initially warned that it would not redo all screensavers.
Moreover, the updated strategy, according to buyers, suffers from poor optimization and many bugs. Frequent crashes and a drop in frame rate occur.
“Compared to the original, they only updated character models and environments, and we can’t say that now everything has become better. I can’t believe that I bought the Blizzard promises after last year’s scandal around Hearthstone. I feel disgust,” said one user.
“The original is better in everything. It even wins on the interface. There is a feeling that Blizzard has stopped putting her soul into her games.”
“I expected to take a fresh look at the history of Warcraft III with cool cutscenes, but we didn’t get anything. They even cut a splash screen where they showed characters close-up, first shown at BlizzCon. This release is literally 95% the same as the original of 2002. The average rating of a project on Metacritic is now 2.8 out of 10. There are not very many reviews on this site yet – around 100.
