Fallout 76 disappointed many fans, but Bethesda won’t stop experimenting with multiplayer – Todd Howard

Director and executive producer Bethesda Game Studios Todd Howard admitted that he and his team had disappointed the players by releasing a multiplayer Fallout 76 instead of the traditional single player game for the series. The developer told about this in a recent interview with the publication The guardian

According to Todd Howard, Bethesda wanted to take its franchises in new directions while keeping up with the times. It was for this reason that it was decided to make the first Fallout online after the fourth numbered part.

At the start of Fallout 76, only the lazy did not criticize. The game suffered from many bugs and a small amount of content, but the developers did not give up and develop their brainchild to this day, releasing new patches and additions.

Todd Howard stressed that he understands that a significant portion of his studio audience is more interested in single projects. However, this will not prevent the team from continuing to focus on networking in some of their games, using different approaches that have their own merits.

“Obviously we are big fans of singles, but at the same time we have had some success in some multiplayer games.

And we found that even if it’s a multiplayer project like The Elder Scrolls Online or Fallout 76, many of our users try to play it as a solo player and not be distracted by other players. Multiplayer can be presented in different ways and has its merits, “said Todd Howard.
