F1 2023 topped UK retail chart for July – Igromania

GamesIndustry.biz with reference to data GfK reports that 146,000 consoles were sold in the UK in July. This is 21% less than in June.

The top-selling console last month was the PlayStation 5, although sales are largely unchanged since June. Rounding out the top three are Switch and Xbox Series. In the first 7 months of this year, iron sales in the UK are up 32% over last year.

Sales of accessories almost reached 579 thousand, which is 21% less than in June, and 18.6% less than a year earlier. The best-selling accessory is the DualSense controller, which took the first two lines (white and black). In third place is Joy-Con in the style of the remaster Skyward Sword.

Games in the UK sold 2.09 million copies last month (data GSD), which is 17.2% less than a year earlier. Of these, 770 thousand are in retail (-16.4%) and 1.32 million in figures (-17.6%).

The biggest releases of the month were The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which is a leader in retail, and F1 2023, which leads the combined chart. Nintendo does not share digital sales figures for its games.

The most successful publisher of the month was Electronic Arts, and close the three leaders Nintendo and SEGA… Among platforms, PlayStation 4 (35% of the market) and Switch (21.5% of the market) are in the lead.
