According to a new survey from an analyst firm Baird Equity Research, more than a third of US gamers intend to purchase the next generation console this year. Statistical information was collected based on the opinions of thousands of people.

According to the data obtained, the demand for new gaming systems turned out to be more significant than expected: eighteen% of respondents plan to purchase PS5, thirteen% want to purchase Xbox series x and five% of the number of respondents intend to buy Xbox series s These figures show that at the start of the next generation of consoles, Microsoft and Sony are in approximately equal positions, which can be called very positive news for the company from Redmond.

Senior analyst of the company Colin Sebastian at the same time noted that the supply of new consoles will be very limited, so many gamers may simply decide to continue playing on the current generation of devices. The interest in buying the current consoles (PS4, Xbox One) has also significantly faded compared to the last year.

Among the games, the first place in the rating of expectations was taken by Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – 24% of respondents plan to purchase it. Next came the football simulator FIFA 21 (18%), adventure action Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (16%), role-playing action Cyberpunk 2077 (15%) and cosmosim Star Wars Squadrons (14%)
