Eurocom launches Tornado F7 SE mobile server – review

Eurocom introduced a laptop Tornado F7 SE, which is officially called a mobile server. The novelty is equipped with powerful iron and is designed to work as a high-performance system straight out of the box.

The device weighs 4 kg, which is less than traditional rack-mount servers, and is also suitable for quickly starting up the system. There is a built-in uninterruptible power supply and powerful cooling.

Main features of Tornado F7 SE:

  • 17.3-inch screen
  • Processors for the LGA1151 Socket – Xeon and Intel i9
  • Up to 128 GB DDR4 SODIMM RAM with four-channel controller (ECC and non-ECC memory supported)
  • Up to 28 TB of permanent memory on five drives: three M.2 NVMe SSDs (up to 2 TB per disk) and two 2.5-inch SATA 3 disks (up to 8 TB per disk)
  • OS: Microsoft Server 2016, Microsoft Server 2016 Data Center Edition, Windows 10 and Linux
  • Two network adapters: built-in on Gigabit Ethernet on an Intel chip, as well as a network adapter in the docking station with connection via Thunderbolt 3.0
  • A number of security systems: smart cards, TPM 2.0, disk encryption, fingerprint scanner and the ability to remove the camera, microphone and WLAN
  • Ports: five USB 3.1, single Thunderbolt 3.0, HDMI 2.0, headphone and microphone outputs.
