Programmer Luke Asher is currently working on a free project. Insigniawhose purpose is to return to Xbox network functionality support. At the same time, according to the enthusiast, it will not be necessary to modify or make any changes to the original software of the old console.
The fan-made project does not restore Xbox Live, but offers users to create a new account on Insignia servers with access to an ecosystem similar to the original service. In the video below, the author showed the process of registering an identifier that will be used to connect with other players. Theoretically, this will allow everyone who connects to Insignia to play with each other in the old network titles on the Xbox.
The launch of Insignia is scheduled for autumn 2023. The plans also include conducting private beta testing.
