A year ago, the launch of the general sales chart of England was expected, taking into account not only retail, but also digital releases. After a long delay, this finally happened.
However, there were some reservations: although the vast majority of publishers share digital data, some still avoid publishing. In particular, Nintendo, so the statistics have become only partially more complete.
At the same time, digital data came with a big delay – now we are considering sales information from December 29 to January 4.
The performance of games in retail and digital stores is very different. For example, Star Wars: Battlefront II has long disappeared from retail charts, but ended up in fifth place in digital, even beating Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which in retail is already in second place.
The situation is similar with Borderlands 3: It sells great in retail, but in digital services is becoming more modest. In a joint chart, the game dropped out of dozens.
