Representative Sony in an interview with the Japanese edition Gamespark confirmed that on the PlayStation 5 you can run games for PS4 and from discs.
Moreover, it seems that we are talking about both backward compatibility and upgrading to the non-xstgen version. Most likely, as in the current generation, users will have to insert a disk into the drive to run, otherwise the project will be unavailable.
At the same time, the representative of the corporation did not answer the question about backward compatibility with games for PS3, PS2 and PS1. Let’s hope that Sony is preparing a pleasant surprise for future owners of the PlayStation 5.
Recall that the Xbox Series X will support most of the Xbox One library, where a number of games for the Xbox 360 and the original Xbox are also available.
The release of new generation consoles is scheduled for the end of the year.
