Sony announced a partnership with Discord, thanks to which the service is integrated into Playstation – this, however, will happen only at the beginning of next year.
While the companies have not revealed all the cards, however, it seems that PlayStation owners will now be able to use voice chat not only through the internal services of the console, but also through the external Discord, making it much more convenient to play with friends on other platforms.
In addition Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a small investment in Discord as part of a new round of investments.
Notably, Discord recently pulled out of a merger with Microsoft and other companies wishing to remain independent. At the same time, the social integration of the service is available on the Xbox, but the voice chat on the console does not work.
