Different teams will now be responsible for the DCUO, EverQuest and PlanetSide series – Daybreak Games announces reorganization

Company Daybreak gamesformerly known as Sony Online Entertainmentannounced the restructuring of its development teams as part of an initiative Franchise first. From now on, three separate studios will be responsible for the development of the most important Daybreak franchises.

Austin-based online multiplayer game developers DC Universe Onlineled by Jack Emmert (City of Heroes, Star Trek Online, Neverwinter) will now be called Dimensional Ink Games. Along with the development of its next “loud MMO action” they will focus all their efforts on supporting DCUO.

The second team, called Darkpaw gamesfocuses on the most powerful franchise in the Daybreak portfolio – Everquest. San Diego based team led by executive producer Holly longdale will continue to update the existing MMORPG EverQuest and EverQuest II, while developing its next unnamed project, which fans have been waiting for after the cancellation of EverQuest Next.

And finally, in Rogue Planet Games The PlanetSide Series development team (also based in San Diego) was renamed. Executive producer will remain at the helm Andy sites. In addition to developing the PlanetSide franchise, the team is also developing a new shooter “defining genre”.
