We are talking about the Surfaces book, which contains 1200 photographs of textures that Jurachek made herself. As the edition notes Polygonas described, the book is intended for visual research for artists, architects and designers.
The book was published in 1996 and contains a disc with all the images. According to Jurachek, she requires people to license her images for commercial use by contacting her directly, but Capcom did not.
The lawsuit notes that at least 80 photos were used in Capcom games. In total, Juracek pointed out more than 200 cases of using her photographs in the company’s games.
Jurachek’s lawyers are asking to award her compensation in the amount of up to $ 12 million for copyright infringement. A Capcom spokesman told Polygon that the company is aware of the lawsuit but declined to comment.
