Debtors’ Latifundia under protection: Final Fantasy 14 helped players affected by coronavirus

Japanese publishing house Square enix responded to the global coronavirus pandemic by announcing the launch of a non-standard initiative in IMO Final fantasy 14. The developers reported a temporary suspension of the demolition of in-game housing, for which gamers forgot or did not have time to pay the rent.

The construction and home improvement in the world of this IMO is a specific task. Standard mechanics with renting a piece of land were complicated by making building sites the ultimate resource. If a player does not manage to make a payment for the rent within 30 days, then the whole house will simply be demolished, and the plot put up for sale.

However, Square Enix has now announced the suspension of the housing demolition process, citing coronavirus infection and the financial crisis. This can help some players who, due to circumstances beyond their control, cannot log into IMO or pay for a subscription in order to protect their right to own latifundia.
