Not tired of coronavirus news yet? Then here’s a new one for you: The British Film and Television Academy has decided to change the format BAFTA Games Awards 2023. Award winners will be announced during an online broadcast without a traditional stage show with nominees on the red carpet in London.
A BAFTA statement said that such a move was taken in connection with the growing concern regarding the spread of coronavirus COVID-19.
“The health and well-being of our guests and employees remains the top priority, as a result of which it was decided to refuse to present the awards to a live audience. Now we are in the process of informing all our nominees, guests and suppliers of the changes.”
The Craft Craft Awards and Television Awards, scheduled for April 24 and May 17, have not yet been canceled, but BAFTA announced that it continues to monitor the situation daily and decisions regarding these events will be made individually.
Broadcast BAFTA Games Awards 2023 will be held April 2nd. Control and Death Stranding lead in the number of nominations.
