There are quite normal solutions with 6 and 8 cores, as well as with 12 and 16 threads. But there is also a version with 8 cores and 12 threads.
This may be a simple typo, but it is possible that we are talking about half-threading. How this will be implemented is unclear. However, it is possible that we are talking about a heterogeneous processor, which will be built according to the big.LITTLE scheme.
In this case, it is possible that the “small” cores will not receive multithreading, while the “large” ones – on the contrary. In any case, it’s worth waiting for confirmation from other sources.
