The biggest problem for us now is the simultaneous delivery of the game on the current and next generation consoles and PC, which requires us to prepare and test 9 versions of it (Xbox One / X, compatibility with Xbox Series X / S, PS4 / Pro, compatibility with PS5, PC, Stadia) working from home. Since Cyberpunk 2077 has evolved almost into a game for next-gen consoles somewhere in the process, we need to make sure everything works well and each version works flawlessly. We understand that it may seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make a difference in the case of such a large and complex game, but it really is.
Some of you may also be wondering what these words mean in light of what we said the game went gold some time ago. Certification, or “gold earning,” means the game is ready, can be completed, and has all the content. But this does not mean that we stop working on it and raise the bar of quality. On the contrary, this is a time when many improvements are being made, which will then become available in the zero day patch. This is the period of time that we miscalculated.
