That Capcom is developing a new Resident evil codenamed Outrage, first became known last November after a massive leak of internal data from the publisher. Then there were reports from insiders that the project is a new part of Revelations starring Rebecca Chambers and is set next in the release schedule. The game is being created primarily for the Nintendo Switch, possibly as a temporary exclusive, and will be announced shortly after the Village premiere.
Now in a new report Biohazardcast new possible details about the game were collected, allegedly obtained as a result of a recent playtest. The publication confirmed some old rumors, such as that Outrage will be from the third person, and the main character will be Rebecca Chambers…
The playtest took place in college, where Rebecca studied another new virus. In the introduction, the player was free to roam the vast campus and interact with frightened students. After exploring the courtyard, the heroine ends up in the library, where she finds a note stating that the college director is in contact with a certain company regarding the research of the virus.
Rebecca is then unexpectedly attacked by an infected student with scissors in hand, and the player has a choice: either to fight back or flee. As a result of the battle, the heroine receives the key to the locker, the contents of which are unknown.
From there, Rebecca continues to delve into the main body of the college, where other areas such as laboratories, classrooms, bathrooms, and a cafeteria can be explored. At the same time, infected teachers and students loitering throughout the territory, similar in behavior to Magini of Resident evil 5 and using “school” weapons.
While researching, Rebecca eventually finds the key to the office. When she enters there, a man sneaks up behind her and somehow sends her out. This concludes the playtest.
Judging by the demo, Rebecca is very vulnerable to attacks and starts with only a knife in her arsenal. It is reported that testing took place on Nintendo Switch, the game uses RE Engine, and the release was planned for the end of autumn this yearbut could be delayed due to COVID-19.
