With the launch of the technical alpha test on the PC Diablo II: Resurrected, portal GameSpot recorded a video in which he compared the remake with the original.
The video is assembled from fragments of the first act of the campaign for the Sorceress and demonstrates the difference using the example of the same scenesrecorded using the option to seamlessly switch between the new 16: 9 HD graphics and the original visual style with the old school 4: 3 aspect ratio. In the first case, in addition to the improved effects, reworked models, updated animations and a smooth frame rate are noticeable, but since both versions of the game are running simultaneously, the basic gameplay remains unchanged.
Barring a revamped interface and a few other improvements, Resurrected will play exactly like it did years ago, with all the familiar mechanics and systems that made the original Diablo 2 an RPG classic.
In addition to this, a video was released on the IGN channel with the first 16 minutes of the alpha version of the updated Diablo 2.:
Diablo II: Resurrected will be released in 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch. Before starting Blizzard will conduct at least one more stage of testing, in which users of all platforms will be able to take part.
