Chapter on the production of original paintings Netflix talked about the reasons why Christopher Nolan while refusing to work with streaming service.
According to Scott Staber, the reason is not just about the distribution of films in cinemas, but the worldwide distribution. They talked a little with the director, and it is important for him that his films can be shown in cinemas around the world, and not just in a limited set of halls – as is usually the case with Netflix.
And until the service can solve this problem – Nolan will not meet halfway.
Streaming caused discord between the director and Warner Bros.which began releasing its 2023 premieres at HBO Max. Nolan didn’t like the decision, and he is rumored to no longer work with the studio – the author even called HBO Max “the worst streaming service.”
Industry insiders then assumed that the director could go to work in the studio. Sony… The latter, however, recently also began testing a model with the rental of its films for users – but so far only in Poland.
