Russian online cinema Okko began preparations for the production of the second season of the detective series “Chikatilo“with Dmitry Nagiyev in the title role.
The authors did not disclose any details of the continuation of the show, but promised to surprise with the appearance of new characters. The filming process of “Chikatilo 2” starts in the summer of 2023.
At the same time, the streaming platform reported on the success of the first season, which became the absolute leader in terms of the number of viewers and attracted a record number of new subscribers. The series started in Okko on March 18th and has reached 4 million views… In addition, the first episode published on the official YouTube channel of the service was watched over 5.8 million times.
“Chikatilo” tells about the double life of the most famous serial killer of the Soviet Union and the investigations of his crimes. The series was directed by Sarik Andreasyan (“Defenders”).
