Change of vision and development challenges: Ubisoft reveals what happened to Skull & Bones – the game will return next year

Tonight Ubisoft will hold a new presentation where announcements, demos and surprises are planned, however, the company decided to warn gamers in advance that the show Skull & Bones will not be at the event… The project will be presented later.

The publisher confirmed that the vision of Skull & Bones has changed during development, but the production of the game is in full swing. Studio Ubisoft Singapore, which leads the development with the support of international publishing teams, is fully prepared to launch the project and support it for many years.

Initially, Skull & Bones was supposed to be released back in 2018, but later the project was pushed back to 2019, and then the launch was postponed indefinitely. The transfer was explained by the fact that the development required more time. This, in particular, was influenced by both the increased ambitions of the team and the overlapping production problems.

“Over the past few months, we have had some critical questions to tackle: how to modernize classic pirate stories? How to provide a more immersive and intuitive experience? How to create cool and memorable moments in the game? In order to answer most of these questions, it became clear that development time is needed more. “

“We are proud of the work we have done and we hope that you too will be proud of the game when you see Skull & Bones comeback next year. In the meantime, on behalf of all Skull & Bones team members around the world, we want to tell you: take care of yourself, and we will soon I’ll see you!”.

Skull & Bones was announced in 2017 for Playstation 4, Xbox one and PC… Since then, the development of the project has allegedly been restarted several times. According to sources, it is now a service game inspired by large-scale events in Fortnite
