Developers from Mojang Studios announced that they had shared the Caves & Cliffs update for Minecraft into two parts. The first will be released this summer, as originally planned, and the second – only at the end of the year.
The first part of the update will include new mobs, items and blocks, and in the second, players will have an improved generation of caves and mountains, as well as an increased height of the world.
The only Caves & Cliffs innovation announced earlier, which will not be released at all this year, is the archeology system.
The studio calls this update the most ambitious to date, so they made a decision so that the team can cope with the difficulties of remote work without losing the quality of new content.
