Camera, Cut Content & Engine: New Demon’s Souls Details for PlayStation 5 – Gone Gold

Renowned modder and hacker Lance McDonald shared new details and early impressions of Demon’s Souls for Playstation 5

Although it’s still a few weeks away from the official release of the game, MacDonald, responsible for the unofficial 60 FPS Bloodborne patch for PS4 Pro, has tweeted a few interesting points about the upcoming remake. He has already seen small fragments of the game, and so far he is “very pleased” with everything that was shown to him

  • Based on what he saw and what else was said, there will be no difficulty levels in the remake;
  • The Fractured mode, which was mentioned in the announcement, is not mentioned anywhere else. He does not know what it is, and whether it is still in the game;
  • The actual gameplay uses a slightly different camera from the one shown in the official gameplay trailer: “When you run, the character is almost exactly in the center, and the camera zooms in almost the same way as on the PS3. If the player is walking or standing still, then the camera zooms in and moves a little to the right. “
  • Some of the content cut from the original Demon’s Souls has been restored in the remake;
  • The game uses parts of Bluepoint Games’ own engine, on which the updated Shadow of the Colossus was built;
  • The remake uses the same file structure as the PlayStation 3 version: “Enemies and objects have (almost) exactly the same folders and filenames as the original. This makes me very hopeful about the project’s credibility.”
  • The game went gold on September 23rd.

The release of Demon’s Souls for PlayStation 5 will take place simultaneously with the launch of the new console. The game is already available for pre-order at PS Store per 5490 rubles
