Call of Duty: Warzone “connects” various franchise subseries; Activision plans port on PS5 and Xbox Series X

Call of Duty: Warzone will become the “connecting link” of various franchise sub-series, for example Black ops and Modern warfare. This was stated by the narrative director Infinity Ward Taylor Kurosaki. The developer told the French edition Gamergen, what Activision plans to make Warzone a kind of “constant.”

“We are now in uncharted territories,” says Kurosaki. “Call of Duty has been coming out regularly over the years, and Warzone has forced us to rethink how best to release new content and how to integrate it.”

“Call of Duty is a genre in itself. Different branches grow on the Call of Duty tree, but they are all intertwined. Warzone will act as the link connecting the various subseries of the franchise. It will be very cool to see how they come and go, and Warzone remains the only constant. “

Given the rich history of the franchise, this sounds sensible, especially since the shareware Warzone has its own content that is developed separately from Modern Warfare and will not compete with various multiplayer modes from each subseries in the future.

Currently, Warzone boasts an audience of more than 50 million players.

Activision plans to support the royal battle for a long time. Kurosaki mentioned plans to release Warzone on next-generation consoles, but the narrative director did not disclose any details about the versions for the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
